The Bush civil rights legacy; the pro-democracy rebuff
Further evidence about the George W. Bush assault on democratic values was reported over the weekend from the Justice Department civil rights division. The number of cases taken up in behalf of citizens has dropped sharply and the number of lawyers working on such cases has declined severely.
In Bahrain, the U.S. got a cold rebuff from Egypt for its proposals at the pro-democracy rally. The Arab world does not buy the Bush concept of democracy.
